The government has announced that DigiLocker services will now be accessible on WhatsApp through MyGov Helpdesk. This will make government services more accessible and inclusive. DigiLocker, a flagship initiative under Digital India programme, aims to strengthen digital empowerment by giving access to digital document wallets where you can store all of your documents. The documents stored in the DigiLocker system are treated as original physical documents which can be accessed anywhere anytime. The official statement says, “Citizens can now access Digilocker services on the MyGov Helpdesk on WhatsApp…Digilocker will be an important citizen service offered by MyGov on WhatsApp to help promote digital inclusion and efficient governance”.

Users can do everything from creating and authenticating their Digilocker account, downloading documents such as PAN card, driving license, vehicle registration certificate, and all on WhatsApp. MyGov Helpdesk on WhatsApp will put governance and government services at the fingertips of citizens.
